Job Description

Knology is seeking a Research Coordinator to join our diverse team of research social scientists, journalists, and educators. The ideal candidate for this position has 1–2 years of experience coordinating research projects, excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines, and strong interpersonal abilities to communicate and collaborate effectively.

Job Responsibilities

Research & Coordination Tasks

  • Provide day-to-day coordination support across multiple projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and communication stay on track
  • Coordinate internal project teams, including scheduling meetings and supporting cross-functional collaboration
  • Prepare and submit IRB applications
  • Manage research logistics, including participant outreach, scheduling interviews and focus groups, consent processes, and distribution of incentives
  • Prepare meeting agendas, materials, and notes for project partner meetings
  • Tracking project budgets and staff hours

Organizational Operation Tasks

This position may include other tasks including but not limited to:

  • Support in preparation of federal and non-federal proposals. May include developing and compiling staff CVs, data management plans, summaries of past project experience, documentation from partners, etc.
  • Tracking proposal submissions and responses
  • Tracking donor engagement
  • Support in compiling organizational metrics

Job Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience coordinating projects, research, programs, or complex initiatives (including internships, fellowships, or relevant academic experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in social science or a related field (e.g., education, public policy, environmental studies, etc.)
  • Familiarity with social science research methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups, surveys); direct research experience a plus
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort engaging professionally with a range of partners
  • High attention to detail and follow-through, especially around documentation and logistics
  • Comfort working independently while also collaborating as part of a team

This position will be completely remote. Candidates must be located in the United States and legally able to work in the US already.
