Bill is an ethicist and social scientist whose work focuses on the ethics and politics of sustainability. With training in ethics, geography, and political theory, his interdisciplinary approach examines why and how we ought to care for people, animals, and nature. At Knology, Bill leads the Ethics and the Biosphere initiative. He is a Research Scientist at the Marsh Institute of Clark University, former Director of the Masters in Animals and Public Policy at Tufts University, former chair of the Ethics Specialist Group of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, and the Political Animals editor for the journal Society & Animals.
